ABOUT US
Our Purpose is to bring a range of quality musical events for the community to enjoy at an affordable price
Music provides a wonderful opportunity to meet with others and appreciate the beauty and variety of the presentation, whilst contributing positive health benefits. These include developing new friendships, addressing health issues, building communities, encouraging inclusivity, and addressing the issue of social isolation.
The Barwon Heads Fine Music Society caters for all groups of people – those who like to listen to classical, jazz, modern, those who like to sing, and those who just love music. Various artists ranging from jazz, trios, quartets, piano recitals and singing groups perform each month and at major events.
Beginnings
The Barwon Heads Fine Music Society Inc. was formed 20 years ago by a small group of music lovers. Performances were originally held in the private homes of the original members. As interest and local support increased, the concerts grew to a regular monthly schedule and the All Saints Anglican Church was adopted as the BHFMS home base.
Now after 2 decades of growing our receptive and inclusive music community, our events and concerts are held across a myriad of venues around Barwon Heads.
